Intro...

New to the blogging world and starting two separate blogs!  I must be crazy right???  Well my original blog plan was to start this blog about traveling with young children.  Ever since we started traveling back in 2006, when my daughter was only 5 months, I always seek new ways to organize/plan our travels.  I never seem to find everything I am looking for and so I thought I would share all my great finds here with you!  Some of the information will be from personal experiences and a lot will be from different areas of the internet world.  Hopefully the information will be useful to you and help ease your next traveling experience.

So as I was saying our first trip was back when my oldest was 5 months.  Our first real trip and we ended up going to Hawaii...a dream of mine came true :)  With our crazy life and work we could never plan our vacations ahead.  So we booked our condo and plane tickets two weeks prior to departure.  Can I tell you how hectic those 2 weeks were!!!  We had never really traveled as a couple so add an infant to the mix and I was a pretty hot mess.   We learn from our experiences right?  So since then I've become a better traveler.  There are so many families out there that have traveled a lot more than we have and have gone greater distances, but I consider myself lucky to have been in so many places already.

Looking back on our trip to Hawaii {which was a 13 hour flight for us} I wish I had all the wisdom I have now!  As we arrived, I was the lucky winner of a mess of a suitcase!  You know when you've never traveled and nobody told you to store your liquids in a ziplock bag...yup... i opened my suitcase to find that my shampoo had opened and my clothes {and my babies} were covered with shampoo!!!  How great it was...NOT.  So lesson #1 in my travels...NEVER put your liquids directly into your suitcase.  So now all is neatly placed in ziplock bags after having the caps sealed with tape, and stuffed between clothing for some extra cushion protection.

We have been so lucky to be able to travel with our children and for us the key to keeping our costs low have been using our timeshare to trade for other destinations {ALWAYS} and really shopping our airfare which has proven to be a tad more difficult recently.  So my plan is to go over each destination we've made it to and give you the 411 of our experiences , places we've loved and products that made our trips more enjoyable:)  So tune in tomorrow to find out all about the lovely island of Kauai, Hawaii.

Happy Monday everyone!
