This was definitely a great trip! Key West was pretty amazing and although we're not into the night life, it was nice to be able to just stroll around town after dinner and just soak it all in. At this point our oldest was almost 1 1/2 years old and my pregnant old self! The flight wasn't the greatest, but with only one child my husband and I were pretty good at keeping her entertained!
So we arrived at the Miami airport where we had rented a car. Off we were to Key West! The only thing is....we didn't realize how long of a drive it would be. It was all good :) We enjoyed the scenery and made the best of our trip. Thank goodness our daughter was used to traveling in cars and made it like the big girl she was!
So we stayed at the Galleon Resort. We had a hotel room with mini fridge, toaster and sink...not the condo we were used to having but with only one child we were ok. We had a great week. We did a few different things while we were there with our then 1 1/2 year old.
- Dry Tortugas: Take a 2 hour to 2 1/2 hour boat ride to get to this fort and beach. Some good snorkeling in the clear waters. I guess you have to like Forts and all...but we do!
- We spent our last night in Miami as we were flying out of Miami so we made a trip to Sea World and the Miami Zoo (not sure if the adults or the little one enjoyed it most?)
- Spent a day on a beach...that was quite a walking distance from our hotel. Have I mentioned it was really hot during our stay? If not it was VERY hot for this pregnant lady!
- Watched the sunset (B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L)
- Walked around town quite a bit.
- Visited the town aquarium {small, but decent}
- Visited the famous Southern most point of the USA- 90 Miles to Cuba
Although there wasn't much variety in activities for us to do with the little one, it was still a nice vacation. Beautiful weather, beautiful town and a perfect sunset.
All we brought for this trip was a stroller. We weren't quite equipped for travel yet...
Here are a few pictures:

This trip was fun. There were just enough things to entertain us for the week. Our daughter did great...aside from the few moody moments {but I had some of those too}, you can't totally blame her:) Being pregnant made some of those long walks a little difficult, but I made it through and it was well worth it. The only thing I didn't like so much is not having a kitchen and having to eat out every night. I think that was the most difficult part for our little one. By the time the day is over and you're showered and ready it was late.
I would definitely go back to Key West if the opportunity arises.
Happy Reading ! Tune in for our next destination :)
